Choose a pack that speaks to you, forget the old.

if you are meant to read a pack will come to you” and “don’t buy your own

So many many decks of Tarot cards are out there on the market so choose a pack that resonates with you, a set of images you find beautiful or easier to interpret is the most important.

Choose well you are going to have them for a long time! Stick with your chosen pack at least at first, till you are comfortable with the Tarot in general. No point in confusing matters.

Learn the basics, there are 100’s of sites and books out there …read, research. Study each card, individually ,start with the major arcana, make up your own story for each card.

Persevere, that moment of ‘seeing the story’ will come.

Avoid reading for yourself  , it’s so tempting but you cant be unbiased,  you will keep going on and on and none of the readings will ‘work’ trust me I know. ( I also know you will anyway, I did) Keep trying and you will get nonsense. I’m not saying it’s absolutely forbidden just keep it to one now and again, at first.

Read instead for another person or event or even your cat, its a way of familiarising yourself with the cards and how they interact with each other.

Write down or photograph your spreads, with how you interpret them  As you go forward you will see your progress, better understand how the cards are connected to each other and get much more from your readings.

Don’t be afraid to use cheat sheets, nothing worse than having to look up a meaning during a reading, takes too long, and memorising 78 cards ,meanings upright and reversed and how they interact is impossible to do at first, there are cheat sheets available online

Your relationship with the Tarot is personal, trust your cards, listen to them, and you will learn what no book can teach you.
